A typical traditional Norwegian sport is cross-country skiing where you propel yourself across snow-covered terrain using skis and poles. This is in my opinion a boring sport, but it's typical for Norway. "Birkebeinern" is a long distance cross-country ski race, and is 54 kilometers long, and the participants have to wear a backpack weighing at least 3,5 kilos. The sport has been around for ages, and the Vikings used cross-country skiing as an effective way of transport.
Do you have cross-country skiing in Korea?
Korea also has cross-country skiing. However, it is not popular so not many people enjoy it. I also want to play cross-country skiing, but unfortunately, I do not know proper place to play it and I do not have much time to do it. Instead, in Korea, many peole enjoy soccer, baseball or basketball. Actually it is baseball season these days. Since I do not have much interest in baseball, I am not a fan of certain team.
SvarSlettThere are many traditional sports in Korea. The most famous sport is Taekwondo. I think you know about it. Taekwondo is one of the most popular martial arts. The name Taekwondo is made up of several different words. Tae means to strike or to kick, Kwon means fists, and Do means a way or an art. Taekwondo , putting all these words together, means the art of kicking and striking. Taekwondo was adopted as one of the events of Olympic game. Many Korean train Taekwondo for their physical and mental health. My younger brother learned Taekwondo when he was 8 years old. I think Taekwondo is a nice sport.
I have heard about Taekwon Do. In fact used to do Taekwon Do when I was younger, and my brother in law has a black belt.
SvarSlettdo you play any sports?
WOw! I didn't expect you did Taekwondo :)
SvarSlettI used to swim when I was 9 years old but I am not doing it now. And when I was 13 years old, I learned hiphop dance for a year, but I don't think dancing is a sport. Actually it is an art, isn't it?
